Wedding Vows

At a wedding reception, the photographer was trying to get a perfect picture of the happy couple. He wanted a shot of the bride and groom looking lovingly into each other’s eyes.

“Okay,” he said, “I want the groom to look at the bride like she’s the only woman in the world. Like she’s the reason the sun rises in the morning.”

The groom, a bit shy, did his best. He gazed at his new wife with a soft, adoring expression.

“Perfect!” the photographer exclaimed. “Now, I want the bride to look at the groom.”

He paused for dramatic effect. “I want you to look at him like he just won a hundred-million-dollar lottery, and all the money is in his name, and he has no prenuptial agreement.”

The bride’s eyes widened. A slow, predatory grin spread across her face, and she stared at her husband with an intensity that made him visibly uncomfortable.

The photographer snapped the picture. “Got it!” he said.

Later, when the couple saw the photos, the groom looked at that particular picture and shuddered. “Honey,” he said to his wife, “you look… terrifying.”

She just smiled sweetly and patted his hand. “Don’t worry, dear. I was just acting.” She paused, then added, “But you should probably start buying lottery tickets, just in case.”
