The Chameleon’s Dilemma

A young chameleon was starting his first day at camouflage school. He was very excited but also a bit nervous. His teacher, an old, wise chameleon with stripes that blended perfectly into the blackboard, began the lesson.

“Today, class,” the teacher announced, “we will learn the most important rule of camouflage: always blend in with your surroundings.”

The young chameleon eagerly nodded, ready to absorb every bit of wisdom.

“Now,” continued the teacher, “for your first exercise, I want everyone to go outside and blend in with… the clear blue sky!”

All the other chameleons immediately started turning various shades of light blue. But the young chameleon just stood there, looking completely confused.

The teacher looked at him. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

The young chameleon sighed. “I can blend in with a leaf, a rock, even a rainbow… but how am I supposed to blend in with nothing?”
