Medical Check-up’s Surprise

A man goes to his annual medical check-up. He’s a bit nervous, as he always is, but the doctor, a cheerful woman, tries to put him at ease.

“Alright, Mr. Johnson,” she says, looking at his chart, “let’s start with some basic questions. How have you been feeling generally?”

“Oh, pretty good, doctor,” he replies. “A few aches and pains here and there, but nothing major. Just getting older, I suppose.”

She nods. “And have you been getting enough sleep? Any changes in your diet or exercise routine?”

“Sleep’s fine,” he says. “Diet… well, I try. Exercise… I walk the dog every day.”

“Excellent,” she says, making a note. “Now, I need to ask you about your memory. Have you noticed any issues with forgetfulness lately?”

The man pauses, a thoughtful look on his face. “Forgetfulness? Hmm, let me think…” He taps his chin. “You know, doctor, that’s a funny thing. I can’t quite remember if I have any memory issues.”

The doctor smiles. “That’s perfectly normal for your age, Mr. Johnson. Now, just one more question. Do you know why I’m asking you all these questions?”

The man looks at her, genuinely puzzled. “Well, I assume it’s because you’re my doctor and this is my annual check-up.”

The doctor chuckles. “Not exactly, Mr. Johnson. It’s because I forgot my own patient list at home, and I’m hoping you can remind me why you’re here!”
