Cat’s Philosophy

A man is sitting on his couch, trying to read a book. His cat, a fluffy Persian, jumps onto his lap and immediately starts purring loudly, rubbing its head against his hand.

The man smiles and strokes the cat. “You’re a very happy cat, aren’t you, Mittens?”

The cat purrs even louder.

Suddenly, the man’s friend walks in. “Hey, what are you doing?” he asks.

“Just trying to read,” the man replies, “but Mittens here has decided it’s cuddle time.”

The friend looks at the purring cat. “That cat always seems so content. What’s his secret?”

The man shrugs. “I think he’s figured out the meaning of life.”

The friend raises an eyebrow. “Really? What is it?”

The man looks down at his cat, who is now kneading his chest with its paws, completely absorbed in the moment.

“He believes,” the man says, “that the purpose of existence is to eat, sleep, get petted, and occasionally knock things off tables just to see what happens.”
