One night, a farmer living in a rural town heard a bright light and then a strange landing sound in his field. Curious, he went outside and saw a silver, disc-shaped spaceship in the middle of his field.
The door slowly opened, and a tall, thin alien with large eyes emerged. The alien walked towards the farmer and began to speak in a strange voice, holding a device in its hand.
“Greetings Earthling,” said the alien, its voice slightly mechanical. “We are here to unravel the mysteries of the universe. We require some fundamental information about your planet.”
The farmer, still in awe, replied, “Alright. What would you like to know?”
The alien looked at its device. “Our first question: On your planet, what does ‘a good day’ mean?”
The farmer thought. “A good day? Well, for me, a good day is when I wake up early, plow my field, the weather is nice, my crops grow well, and my wife makes a delicious stew for dinner.”
The alien recorded something on its device. “Understood. Now, our second question: On your planet, what does ‘a bad day’ mean?”
The farmer sighed. “A bad day? A bad day is when I wake up late, my tractor breaks down, my crops get sick, the rain never stops, and my wife nags me at dinner.”
The alien recorded something again on its device. “Very interesting. One last question: On your planet, what does ‘a very bad day’ mean?”
The farmer looked at the spaceship, then at the alien, and shrugged. “A very bad day? A very bad day is when an alien spaceship lands in the middle of your field and starts interrogating you about your planet.“
