Aisle Be Watching You

At his wedding reception, the nervous groom was cornered by his new father-in-law. The older man clapped him on the back with a little too much force.

“Well, son,” he said with a booming voice, “I hope you know what you’ve gotten yourself into. My daughter, she’s a very special girl. A real treasure. I trust you’ll take good care of her.”

The groom, trying to be polite, nodded eagerly. “Yes, sir. Absolutely. She’s the most important thing in the world to me. I’ll spend my life making her happy.”

The father-in-law’s expression turned serious. He leaned in close, his eyes narrowing. “Good. Because let me tell you something. She has some very specific, very expensive tastes. She loves fine dining, designer clothes, exotic travel, luxury cars… the list goes on. Are you prepared for that?”

The groom swallowed hard, his confidence wavering slightly. He looked over at his beautiful bride, who was laughing with her friends across the room. He then looked back at his father-in-law, squared his shoulders, and put on his most determined face.

“Don’t you worry, sir,” the groom said with a firm voice.

“I’ve already found the perfect part-time job for her.”
