The Miracle Cure

An 85-year-old man, Mr. Johnson, went for his annual check-up. The doctor was astounded by his vitality.

“Mr. Johnson, this is remarkable,” the doctor said, looking over his chart. “You have the blood pressure of a 30-year-old and the heart of a champion. What’s your secret?”

The old man grinned proudly. “It’s my new wife, doc! She’s 25 years old, and she keeps me feeling young and full of life.”

The doctor chuckled. “Well, that’s wonderful. A positive attitude and an active life can certainly work wonders.”

“That’s not all!” Mr. Johnson beamed. “She’s pregnant! We’re having a baby!”

The doctor was taken aback for a moment, then decided to share a little story. “You know,” he began, leaning back in his chair, “that reminds me of a friend of mine. He was an avid hunter, but getting on in years and a bit forgetful.”

“He went out into the woods one day, but he’d accidentally picked up his umbrella instead of his rifle. Suddenly, a huge grizzly bear came charging out of the trees right at him. My friend, in a panic, lifted the umbrella, pointed it at the bear like a rifle, and shouted ‘BANG!'”

The doctor leaned forward, his eyes wide. “And you know what? The bear dropped dead right there on the spot.”

Mr. Johnson stared at the doctor, then burst out laughing. “Ha! That’s impossible, doc! Somebody else must have shot that bear!”

The doctor smiled gently and said, “Exactly.”
