The Tooth Fairy’s Accountant

A little boy named Billy loses his first tooth and excitedly puts it under his pillow. The next morning, he wakes up to find a crisp dollar bill. Overjoyed, he runs to his dad.

“Dad, dad! The Tooth Fairy came! She left me a dollar!” Billy exclaims, waving the money.

His dad smiles. “That’s wonderful, son! Now, what are you going to do with your dollar?”

Billy thinks for a moment. “I’m going to save it! And when I lose all my teeth, I’ll be rich!”

His dad chuckles. “Well, that’s a good plan, but it might take a while.”

A few weeks later, Billy loses another tooth. This time, he finds two dollars under his pillow. He’s ecstatic.

“Dad, the Tooth Fairy is giving me a raise!” he shouts.

His dad looks puzzled. “A raise? That’s unusual. Are you sure?”

“Yes!” Billy insists. “First one dollar, now two! She must really like my teeth!”

The next morning, Billy wakes up to find a small note under his pillow instead of money. He runs to his dad, looking confused.

“Dad, what’s this? The Tooth Fairy left me a letter!”

His dad takes the note and reads it aloud: “Dear Billy, your teeth are beautiful, but due to recent economic downturns and a significant increase in the number of children losing teeth, the Tooth Fairy’s budget has been severely impacted. We regret to inform you that we’ve had to implement a new ‘cost-per-tooth’ model. For your next tooth, please provide a detailed dental history, proof of brushing twice daily, and a recent x-ray. We also encourage you to consider our premium ‘cavity-free’ package for better returns. Sincerely, The Tooth Fairy’s Accountant.”
